This session of Lauren was so much fun! I love it when my clients bring elements that mean something to them so we create a unique portrait experience that reflects who they are and not who I am as a photographer. In Lauren’s case, she brought a beautiful quilt that her grandmother had made her a long with some gorgeous perfume bottles that she collects. We were able to incorporate those elements along with a vintage vanity I had in my prop stash to make her session special. The gorgeous flowers and foliage were the perfect backdrop to Lauren’s style and beauty and I just love how her whole session came together.

BFF’s, Sister Love and Puppies!!! {Portrait Phographer} Snohomish County, Washington

The weather this past winter was not so great but there was one week in February where the weather was gorgeous. I was able to take advantage of the beautiful climate and captured this cute session of two best friends and then a sister session. The first part of the session we got to use my new prop, my sweet little black schnauzer puppy! Then the sister’s got to take photos with their adorable pup….I guess it was a puppy shoot too. All three of these girls were such a joy to work with and I just love how the colors pop brightening up a winter day that normally could be kind of dreary around here.

Young Love {Couple Portrait Photographer} Seattle, Washington

I did this session last summer for this darling couple. It wasn’t an engagement session at the time but a week later they became engaged so it ended up being used as their engagement session and I couldn’t have been happier! I have known these two since they were in high school and man does time fly. This year they both will be finishing their college education and then they will become husband and wife this coming summer!

These images really capture the love they have for one another and how their sweet personalities! Enjoy:)

Kelsey was such a joy to shoot. Her personality is so bubbly and I think we really captured that side of her during her summer session. Looking back on these summer sessions makes me long for the days of summer! I want to run through the park barefoot with sunflowers in my bicycle basket! Only a couple months to go and we will back in that season! I can’t wait!

In the meantime, the class of 2012 only has half the year left before they graduate! Kelsey, I hope you are making a lot of fun memories during your senior year because before you know it you will be walking down the aisle during commencement! Enjoy these next few months….they go by way too fast!

Snow Princess-Portrait Photography{Snohomish County and King County}

I have been dying all winter to do a stylized snow session. With the mountains only and hour away I thought maybe I would get some willing participants to journey into the snow with me for this reason, but a couple weeks ago Mother Nature decided to dump that beautiful white stuff in my own backyard, creating the perfect backdrop for my dream session. Thankfully I didn’t have to look far for a model. With my 16 year old daughter home from the school closures I talked her into dressing up for this fun outing. Last year I found this beautiful mink coat (don’t call Peta, it’s vintage so I think of it as recycling) at The Carousel in Spokane and I have been waiting for the perfect setting to use it and this was it! My daughter had the beautiful purple dress from homecoming and we added a few accessories from my stash and out we went. We only had to go down the block to find the most gorgeous trees covered in snow and I knew it would be the perfect setting for my snow princess. After doing the session I wished I could do more. Sadly the snow melted away. I loved it so much I am thinking of moving to Alaska….kidding! It was really such a blast though and I can’t wait for the next snow storm!

The photos above were my vision and I love how my daughter played model with me but I had to post the photos below because really that is more her personality. Of course our new puppies made a great prop to use in the snow also!

Joyworks Fashion Shoot {Snohomish Washington} Fashion Photography

Back in the summer I had the most awesome opportunity to photograph a fashion session for one of my most favorite stores ever, Joyworks in Snohomish Washington. I had worked with the store previously shooting for some of their events but this was my first attempt to shoot a stylized fashion shoot with models and props. We had so much fun working with the models (my sweet daughter included) and our awesome hair and make up artist. We did the whole session in my neighborhood finding interesting spots just blocks from my home and using my garden in the backyard. Even one of my cats got to model for a photo! At one point during the shoot we were along a walking path and a couple people came by riding their horses. Since at that moment our model just happened to be wearing cowboy boots we asked them if we could borrow their horse for a couple of shots. It never hurts to ask right? Well they said yes….and we ended up with the perfect image to go with the clothes we were shooting! It couldn’t have worked out more perfect! Thanks to everyone involved and I can’t wait to do many more fun fashion shoots!

Ally {Archbishop Murphy Class of 2012} Senior Portrait Photography (Everett Washington)

After all this snow we’ve been having lately I thought it would be nice to post some summer sessions. Ally’s session was all about the beach! She was the perfect beach girl with her beautiful long blond hair and sweet summer tan! Ally is also a soccer player so we were able to incorporate some fun shots showing her skills with the ball! After we left her grandparents beach cabin we headed into Snohomish to catch her country girl side. We made it there just in time for a beautiful sunset and gorgeous hot air balloons dotting the sky!

Beginning Photography Workshop, Snohomish and King County

I am so excited to be hosting my 6th “Beginning Photography Class” in a year and half this coming Saturday. When I started this career as a photographer a little over two years ago I never dreamed that teaching was going to be part of this journey but I am so glad it is! I love to teach!!! I almost became a school teacher just a few years ago, so I feel like I get to combine two passions into one when I teach these workshops. Honestly, I would love to teach more and share what I have learned so please spread the word! If you or anyone you know is interested I still have a few more spaces for Saturday’s workshop but I will hopefully holding another one in early spring for those who had to miss this one. Fairytale Session-Children’s Portrait Photography (Monroe,Wa)

This little session was one of my favorite ones to date. I had so much fun with this little cutie and her parents creating a make believe world with fairies, frogs and magical butterflies!

I am going to try to catch up with some blogging….I am so behind but I downloaded BlogStomp and hopefully the new system will keep me on track. It speeds up my workflow for getting the images prepared to blog and it really is a time saver! When I start getting behind on work blogging is the last on my list because it always would take so long to post anything.

I don’t even know if anyone even really looks at the blog but the images look so much better on here than on my facebook. If you do read this please comment and say hi so I am not doing this for nothing;)

Annie Laurie is a beautiful senior I photographed when the weather was still gorgeous out…almost as gorgeous as her but not quite.
